India Lounge

I plan to make room for, and welcome, material from my past specialised interests in the stamps and postal history of India, including parts of the British Empire there which have long been independent, such as Aden. I have long been a member of the India Study Circle for Philately, or ISC, which introduced me to the fascinating range to be found in Indian material through the monthly meetings in London. These days, the Circle has a genuinely world-wide membership, with a growing number based in the subcontinent.

‘India Post’, the Circle’s journal, which I used to edit, flourishes, and interest in the subject grows as India and her people prosper. India Post’s digital archive is an astonishing resource for anyone with half an interest in the postal history of South Asia, it republishes the whole 60 years history of the Circle’s journals, thousands of articles comments, discussions, loads of knowledge. It is only available to ISC members when they join!
