Russ[ische] Krottingen, now Kretinga - coastal frontier

Kretinga used to be the border town of Russia and Prussia, close to the coast. The town of Crottingen was on both sides of the border, so the Germans called "Russisch" the town on the Russian side and "Deutsch Crottingen" the one on their side of the border which is now the small Lithuanian town of Kretingalė. The Russians called the town Кретинген / Kretingen.
